The only way to avoid this is to rely on God for everything and seek His will so we don't make mistakes.

Ron,
I tell you what, each morning I read your post here as I start my workday at the office. You never fail to help me to see into the meaning of the verse and this has been particularly helpful with the old testament which I am often swayed to skip over. Today's passage specifcally, as I read I thought exactly what you wrote, "how DOES this relate to the here and now...." and your explanation really hit home with me, about how everyday things in life are also preparing us, molding us to have the heart He wants us to have.

Ron, in Exodus 33:11, it states "the Lord would speak to Moses face to face as a man speaks to his friend". And then in verse 20, "but He said you cannot see my face for no one can see me and live". What is the difference in translation here as the prior suggests Moses, in the Tent of Meeting, speaks to the Lord face to face? Thanks!

Thank you again for your message today. I too lost my Dad at a young age from cancer. I know all about the how we as a family prayed for his recovery and it seemed that our prayers went unanswered. We now have come to believe that God did answer, but the answer was no because he had another plan. I lost my first wife of forty-two years with lukemia. Again our prayers were answered negitively but we know that God had a plan.

Thanks Pastor Ron for your Christmas Tree story/memories. The best memory I have from my childhood Christmas is.....
my parents came from Norway in their 30's & at Christmas we would celebrate a Norwegian custom of surrounding the tree holding hands (with friends also) walking and singing Christmas Carols.
And - yes the ornaments all are so precious - the older one gets the more meaningful they are to you...it's a beautiful trip down memory lane. I do love the Bible Chapel Door ornament with our hand written words of faith as a beautiful reminder of what God did for us. We also have such fun memories of when our children were still home of going out to the Christmas Tree field to pick & cut down our very own tree. Memories are a wonderful gift from our Lord & Savior.
Wishing you & your dear family a Very Blessed Christmas.

It's funny the bucket list issue also came up in a conversation I had with an old high school friend on Facebook last night. Thank you. This affirms what I was thinking.

Hello, Pastor Moore! Wow...we've been praying for you and all our pastors at the Chapel...but after reading this...will be praying in a 'different' way...I realize that it is not your wisdom, guidance and blessing that we crave...it's the Lord working thru you...and that you are just like us. Will be praying for the Lord to continually fill you up...with everything you need to 'feed His sheep'...to lead your family as well as your church family...and to bless your efforts. After my 6 year old daughter saw you cutting your grass and was amazed that you cut your own grass...that is when she realized that you were just like us. LOL So glad the Lord led me to read this today...we really appreciate all you do! Will be praying for you and your family!
